Once you’ve owned a cleaning company you’ll never see the world the same way again. Seven years after selling my company and getting out of the cleaning business, I still can’t stop critiquing other’s work, or the lack there of. Everywhere I go, I see the dirt left behind.

I am willing to concede that I may be a wee bit uptight with such things, but then again, if I can see it, so can whoever is paying the cleaning bill! I know that I write about this topic frequently, but I really do think it is extremely important!

Incidentally the bathroom picture above was actually very clean, which may be why the little details stood out so much!

When you finish cleaning an area, it only takes a second to stop and look around before leaving to see if there is any detailing that can be done. Wiping off the top of the dispenser button would literally take only a fraction of second!

It’s these little details that can be the straw that breaks the camel’s back with your customer! On the other hand, paying attention to this level of detail can also be what endears your company to the client forever!
